Since the 1st of July 2016, a new regulation applies to companies established outside of France with detached employees and whose activities include land transport. This regulation concerns domestic road transport and international transport to or from France, but not simple transit operations.
The companies concerned are required to appoint a representative in France to act as a liaison with the national control authorities.
The regulation is designed to bolster the application of European posting rules, in order to protect drivers and shipping crews. For example:
